1. Introduction

Card Sensei (“we”, “us”, “our”) sells trading cards and collectible items. We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions and condition assessments are accurate; however, due to the nature of collectible cards, variations and subjectivity in grading are unavoidable.

By purchasing from Card Sensei, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

 

2. Product Images

Unless expressly stated otherwise, all product images are for illustrative purposes only.

This means:

  • The card you receive may not be the exact card shown

  • Images may represent a typical example of the card

  • Variations in centering, print quality, surface condition, and colouring may occur

Listings that include the wording “Exact Card Shown” will correspond to the specific item pictured.

 

3. Card Condition Assessment

All cards are assessed and assigned a condition based on internal grading standards. Condition grading is inherently subjective and may vary between collectors or third-party grading providers.

Card Sensei uses commonly recognised condition categories, including:

  • Gem Mint (GM)
  • Near Mint/Mint (NM/M)
  • Lightly Played (LP)
  • Moderately Played (MP)
  • Heavily Played (HP)
  • Damaged (DMG)

A card described as “Near Mint” is not guaranteed to be flawless and may include minor imperfections such as:

  • edge wear or whitening

  • light surface scratching

  • minor print defects

  • centering imperfections

Customers who require a specific standard of condition are encouraged to contact us prior to purchase.

 

4. Absence of Individual Card Images

Unless specifically stated in the product listing, individual photographs of each card are not provided.

By purchasing, you acknowledge that:

  • you are purchasing a card within the stated condition category

  • the exact card received may differ from expectations within that category

 

5. Third-Party Grading Disclaimer

Card Sensei does not guarantee outcomes from third-party grading services, including Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), Beckett (BGS), or CGC.

Condition descriptions provided by Card Sensei:

  • are not guarantees of any specific grading result

  • should not be relied upon as an indication of potential grading scores

Purchases should be made based on the stated condition and product description, not on anticipated grading outcomes.

 

6. Returns and Condition Disputes

We aim to ensure all products are accurately described and fairly graded.

However:

  • returns based solely on subjective disagreement with condition assessments may not be accepted

  • minor imperfections consistent with the stated condition category do not constitute a fault

If a product is materially different from its description, customers should contact us promptly so that we can assess and resolve the issue.

 

7. Pricing and Listing Accuracy

While every effort is made to ensure accuracy:

  • product listings may contain errors or omissions

  • pricing or availability may change without notice

Card Sensei reserves the right to:

  • correct any errors

  • cancel or refuse orders where a clear and obvious error has occurred

 

8. New Zealand Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Where goods are not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or not as described, you are entitled to remedies in accordance with applicable New Zealand law.

 

9. Acceptance of Terms

By completing a purchase from Card Sensei, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted this Disclaimer & Condition Policy.
